 A New Benefice Grouping

On 1st February 2018 the Romsey Deanery Synod endorsed the plan to make a new Benefice (comprising Leckford, Longstock, Stockbridge, Houghton, Broughton with Bossington and Mottisfont) with one full time paid priest, whose residence would be in Stockbridge.  The churchwardens of this new Benefice have now met twice.  There are decisions to be made about the way the new Benefice works but, if agreements can be reached and recruitment documents satisfactorily completed, the new post could be advertised in September 2018 with an appointment made before December 2018.
All six PCCs (Parochial Church Councils) will need to make decisions to help meet this schedule. James Pitkin and Sarah Boothman, Acting Area Dean and Lay Chair – Romsey Deanery.
