West Tytherley Village Fete Launch

will take place at 1000-1100 Sunday 3 February in the Village Hall. We'd like to thank all those who made last year's Fete such a success. So whether you helped organise it or simply spent your hard earned cash on fête day, please join us for a free cuppa and a piece of cake. We'd also love to see those of you who couldn't make it last year and all our neighbours new to the village.  The village fete is a great fun community-run event. Last year it raised a record amount of cash for the community's good causes and this is your chance to find out where the funds went.  We'll be asking you for your ideas and looking for volunteers who can help on the day.

Over 60s Lunch Club

Lockerley Walking Group

Sunday 10th February. Join us for a circular walk from Lockerley via Awbridge Danes Lake to Kimbridge Barn for lunch, returning via Mottisfont.  Meet at 0930 at Lockerley Hall. Contact Dave and Kirsteen on 017 94 34 11 01.

Community Hedge Planting Day

On 16th of February Lockerley Estate is holding a community hedge planting day to put a new hedge along the road towards Broughton, starting just beyond the old Police house in Manor Road and running up to the gateway opposite the back entrance to Manor Farm. We would love as many people as possible, young, old and in between to help plant the hedge and you will be rewarded with lunch and chocolate brownies. All you need to bring is some enthusiasm, gloves and a decent garden spade. Please meet and park at Manor Farm at 0930. Garden Club

There will be a meeting of Garden Club on Thursday February 21st at 1930 in Lockerley Memorial Hall. There will be a talk given by Marcus Dancer on the subject of "Climbing Plants for Sun and Shade" All welcome – refreshments.

Lockerley and East Dean WI

The next meeting of the WI is on 26th February. The talk by Mr Nigel Knott will be ‘The Bootleg Years – 40 years working for HMCE' Visitors most welcome, please telephone Carole on 017 94 34 08 67.

Charity Bridge Event

A charity bridge event will be held at Awbridge Village Hall on Friday 1st March with a prompt 1pm start. It is organised by Voice for Hospices Choir and is in aid of all Hampshire Hospices. Lockerley Walking Group

Saturday 9th March Join the Lockerley Walking Group for an 8 mile circular walk from Lockerley across Dean Hill with lovely views to Whiteparish and back. Meet at the top of Top Green at 1000. Lunch will be at the re-furbished King’s Head pub. Contact Andy for more details 017 94 34 09 93.

Reminiscences of Romsey

kindly organised by The Rotary takes place in the Crossfield Hall, Romsey on Saturday 9th March from 1315 - 1700. There will be music from the Ukulele Band, a slideshow about the history of Romsey and an afternoon tea. Free tickets are available and they must be booked by 9th February. Lockerley Greens Preservation Society

is holding a Quiz Night at the Village Hall on Saturday 23rd March at 1930. Tickets £5.00 each are available from Bobbie 017 94 34 22 74 and Gerry 017 94 34 04 11. Teams of six people. Bring a plate of food to share plus your own drink and glasses.

Village Quiz Night – Thanks

Marilyn and Nigel Hind would like to thank all those who supported the Village Quiz in November. The proceeds of £480 have been split between village hall funds and a Parkinson's Disease support group.
