Garden Club Plant Sale

Saturday May 4th at 1000 at Little Dean, Lockerley Green (opposite the shop). Donations of plants clearly labelled will be accepted at the venue in the preceding days. Open from 1000 - the best plants go first! All welcome

The AGM of Lockerley Greens Preservation Society

will take place on Tuesday 7th May at 1930 in the Reading Room of the Village Hall. The AGM part of the meeting does not take up much time and this will be followed by light refreshments.

 Lockerley and District Garden Club

Friends of Bentley Wood Evening Birdsong Walk

Saturday 11th May at 1900. We will listen to birdsong and owl calls as we stroll. Experts on hand to help. Stout footwear recommended with light refreshments to follow.

West Tytherley Village Fete

Saturday 18th May 1200-1600 at the Recreation Ground. Free entry to our proper Village Fete with a wide range of traditional stalls and activities, food and drink and a range of fun events in the event arena - yes, of course including egg throwing. Come along and join the fun while helping raise money for our local good causes. New this year will be the Lockerley Silver Band playing through the afternoon and we're very excited to have some rather special vintage and classic transport on display and in the main arena. It's free to enter our nautical-themed scarecrow competition. Reckon you're top dog? Agility and ability will be the key to winning in the dog show arena with classes for best puppy under 12 months, doggy egg and spoon, dog most like its owner, catch the sausage, Young handler age 12 or under, best rescue dog and the doggy obstacle race. Or why not enter the photo competition with classes for under 16s and 16+ in three categories: West Tytherley scenes, portrait (not necessarily people) and abstract. The scarecrow competition is free to enter. To enter the other competitions £2 per class in dog show and photo competition with prizes in all classes. Full details on classes and how to enter will be available shortly in the village shop, on Facebook and the village website. Having too much fun to stop? Tjhe festivities continue at the Barn Dance in the village hall from 1900h with tickets on sale in the shop £12, £8 under 16s (must be accompanied by adult).

West Dean : The Traditional Village Fete

Saturday 1st June 1300 - 1700. Free entry for all children. Family entertainment all afternoon with falconry, Romsey Old Cadets, giant inflatable assault course, mucky bucket petting farm, Juggling Jake’s Circus, King John’s Morris Men, local produce, craft stalls, dog show and agility course, duck race, intervillage tug of war, steam engine and classic cars, flower show in St Mary’s Church, bars and BBQ, teas and cakes. Meet at the Social Club at 1230 to join the opening procession. Scarecrow competition around the village 27th May to 1st June.

Pilgrimage and Visit

Assisi Pilgrimage 10-17 September 2019. There is one spare space (or two if a couple wished to join) for the Pilgrimage to Florence and Assisi. Lockerley Rainbows

Female adult volunteers needed for Lockerley Rainbows. Rainbows are the youngest section of the Girl Guiding movement and offers a fun and exciting programme for girls aged five to seven and it’s all about learning by doing. The local Lockerley unit meets on a Wednesday from 1730 to 1830 and is needing some new (female) leaders to help this group keep going. Girls come from all the surrounding villages - Awbridge, Tytherley, Mottisfont. By volunteering you can help girls build their confidence, have adventures, learn new skills and have loads of fun - no matter your experience, your background or how much time you have spare.
