The Sarah Rolle Trust was established by Sarah Rolle 1731 to further the education of children of East Tytherley and Lockerley parishes. The Trust can make grants to assist the educational needs of those living within the parishes or those whose parents still reside within. Grants are made by the Trustees who meet twice a year in March and October. The dates are published in the newsletter of the United Benefice of Lockerley, East Dean, West Tytherley and East Tytherley. This link leads to a grant application form in PDF format; if you plan to apply to the trust for a grant you should download it, read it carefully, and send it in within the timescale requested and usually notified in the Newsletter.

The terms of this charity, as shown in the Charity Commissioner’s Schedule, state that grants must be made for educational purposes and that applicants must be under 25 years of age. Either he, or she, must now reside, or their parents now reside, within the civil parishes of either Lockerley or East Tytherley. The completed application form should be sent or delivered to the Clerk to the Trustees, Mount View, East Dean Road, Lockerley, Romsey, SO51 0JO at least two weeks before the Trustees meet. They meet usually in March and October and the exact date will be published in the United Benefice Newsletter. Applications received less than one week before the meeting may be deferred until the following meeting.
